APPLE CHAI LATTE Everything you love about apple pie is wrapped up in the cozy flavors of a chai latte. total time 20 minutes • serves 2 INGREDIENTS 1 cup water 2 Fresh Thyme chai black tea bags ¼ cup dried apple rings, coarsely chopped ½ tsp. ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish ¼ tsp. ground ginger ⅛ tsp. ground nutmeg ¾ cup whole milk ½ cup French Vanilla half-and-half, divided 1 Tbsp. brown sugar INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place water in a microwave-safe, 2-cup Apple ch ai latte glass measure. Microwave on high 1 minute or until steaming hot. Add the tea bags, apple, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and strain mixture through fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a medium bowl. 2. In a small saucepan, combine the milk, ¼ cup half and half, and brown sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until almost boiling and the sugar is dissolved. 3. Divide tea between 2 serving mugs. Pour half of milk mixture over tea in each mug. 4. Place remaining ¼ cup of half and half in a glass jar with lid. Shake jar until half-and-half is frothy. Add froth to each mug and sprinkle with cinnamon. Each serving contains: 217 calories, 10 g fat, 6 g saturated fat, 0 g trans fat, 29 mg cholesterol, 64 mg sodium, 24 g carbohydrates, 0 g fiber, 23 g sugar, 5 g protein.
